"Only a man who fully realizes the difficulty of awakening can understand the necessity of long and hard work in order to awake. But in order to achieve all this and to obtain results a certain number of people must work together. Therefore a man who wants to awake must look for other people who also want to awake and work together with them."

G.I. Gurdjieff in “In Search of the Miraculous” –PD Ouspensky

Announcing an event, free and open to the public:

The Gurdjieff Foundation of Texas (Houston) will be presenting excerpts from the video "Meetings with Remarkable Men" directed by Peter Brook on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 7 PM.  The presentation will include an open discussion on the material in the film as well as G.I. Gurdjieff's ideas.

The Foundation will be providing refreshments and an opportunity for informal discussions after the viewing.   Space is limited.   Please respond with your interest in attending by calling 713-823-7845.  Leave your name and a phone number where we may contact you to confirm your attendance and provide you with directions to the venue.

The Gurdjieff Foundation of Texas is a non-profit organization dedicated to a continuing study of the ideas of G.I. Gurdjieff. The Houston Group is related to the Gurdjieff Foundation in New York as well as the world-wide study of these ideas.

We employ the forms for study instituted by Gurdjieff such as practical craft work, cooking, discussion, exchange, and sacred dance. We also follow the practice of sitting (a short, guided meditation).
