"To awaken is not to isolate oneself from the world,  it is not to cut ourselves from the ensemble of relationships with which we are called to exist.  Very much the contrary;  this awakening is a broadening, an enrichment.   It is the possibility of living at the same time on different levels,  of facing the demands of several levels simultaneously."

- Henri Tracol in "The Taste for Things that are True"

"Any prayer may be heard by the higher powers and a corresponding answer obtained only if it is uttered thrice:
Firstly - for the welfare or the peace of the souls of one's parents.
Secondly - for the welfare of one's neighbour.
And only thirdly - for oneself personally."

- G.I. Gurdjieff in "All and Everything"

The Gurdjieff Foundation of Texas is a non-profit organization dedicated to a continuing study of the ideas of G.I. Gurdjieff. The Houston Group is related to the Gurdjieff Foundation in New York as well as the world-wide study of these ideas.

We employ the forms for study instituted by Gurdjieff such as practical craft work, cooking, discussion, exchange, and sacred dance. We also follow the practice of sitting (a short, guided meditation).
